In Trinidad and Tobago, Channa is most commonly used in dishes like Channa and Aloo,which is essentially curried chickpeas and potatoes that is eaten with roti. Less popular is Channa Punch, which is a beverage made with blended chickpeas, condensed milk, and various spices.

INGREDIENTS;

1 cup channa soaked in water overnight or 1 tin of channa / chickpeas

1 cup whole milk or full cream milk

1 cup condensed milk

1/2 tin evaporated milk

1 tbsp mixed essence

1/4 tsp nutmeg

1/4 tsp cinnamon

dash of Angostura Bitters

METHOD;

Blend all ingredients until it reaches a smooth consistency. Refrigerate and drink.
