Angostura’s holding company was able to purchase Fernandes Distillers with capital gained from Bacardi taking a minority but significant stake in both companies.

The owner of Fernandes felt it was the right time to exit the rum business in Trinidad for a number of reasons. For Bacardi, there were significant benefits to be had in expanding their rum production to Trinidad.

Angostura would integrate Fernandes brands like Fernandes Black Label Rum and Forres Park Puncheon Rum into their product line-up.
