A limited edition version of Mackeson Stout is coming soon; Mackeson Dark Chocolate Stout.
Stout is a style of beer defined by the use of roasted malt that lends a darker colour and a rich, roasty taste. Within that style are several sub-styles.
Mackeson Stout is classified as a Milk Stout which is defined by the addition of lactose to the beer wort. Unlike other sugars, lactose cannot be fermented by brewing yeast so it lends a sweet taste and creamy texture to the final product.
In this limited edition version of Mackeson Stout, Trinitario cocoa nibs would be added to the brewing process, enhancing the already decadent notes of coffee and cocoa and complimenting already creamy character of the stout.
